DESPITE showers, this year’s Liss Village Day was a success, say organisers.
The annual event was held on the Newman Collard Playing Fields on Saturday.
This year’s village day was the first one organised by Puddleducks.
Joint-organiser Claire Milton said: “It was really good fun and we had a good turnout despite the weather.
“We had a bouncy castle, fairground rides, a hog roast, a barbecue and a raffle.
“The rock choir and dog show stole the show though and sold the event. The rock choir were outstanding.
“We had some problems with the sound system and Liss Band played music for the ballet performance, which was great.”
Saturday’s annual village day was raising money for the Newman Collard Playing Field Trust.
Claire added: “We raised about £1,000 for the trust, which is fantastic.
“I would also like to thank all the local businesses that supported us and donated prizes to our raffle, and we had a kind donation from William Metcalf Bentley in Hill Brow.”
