Cross-border talks will be held next week as plans for 68 new houses in Rake will be discussed by two councils.
The application by AYG Holdings Beeches Ltd for the Heathmount site on London Road is believed to be the biggest in the village’s history.
The proposals involve the demolition and replacement of the Copper Beaches and Silver Birch care homes with housing and the conversion of Heathmount.
Since Rake sits directly on the border of Hampshire and West Sussex, planning committees on both Liss and Rogate Parish Councils will give their views.
The former will meet at 7pm next Monday (June 9) in Liss village hall, with RPC’s meeting taking place the following night in Rake village hall at 7pm.
