PETERSFIELD Rugby Club’s under-11 girls’ squad played their second festival of the season at Farnham this weekend – their first as an entire Petersfield team and wearing their new Dowers-sponsored shirts.

On a cold and early morning, the girls had a bit of a baptism of fire in their first game against Chobham. Strong spirit was needed against a well-drilled team. The match was an end-to-end affair, with Field scoring two excellently-worked tries.

By the end of the second match against New Milton the girls had found their feet and started playing some really good rugby – competing in the contact. Burraud had a strong carry into the heart of the pitch to help set up Mullis, who crossed the whitewash to put Petersfield on the scoreboard.

In their third match against Havant the Petersfield girls were very competitive and Haddrell, Hall and Godber all started hitting good lines and playing with gusto. Godber scored a try for Field, while Haddrell claimed two tries.

Petersfield’s fourth match, against Reigations, was a close and competitive affair.

Leadbitter, Inche and Mullis ran some good lines, and scores for Haddrell, Leadbitter and Hall meant the match finished as a draw.

Petersfield’s final match against Reeds Rebels proved to be an even contest.

Yeadon, Haddrell, Godber, Inche, Mullis, Leadbitter and Hall equipped themselves well in all areas.

Scores from Haddrell (2), Hall and Leadbitter gave Petersfield a solid win.
