EAST Hill House staff, residents and families completed their memory walk in aid of World Alzheimer’s Day to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Many of those who were walking were doing so with a loved one in mind, and a total of 20 East Hill House staff, residents and families took part to walk for a world without Dementia.

The weather on the day was on the walkers’ side with only a quick shower that soon subsided.

There were works being carried out but the workmen reopened the path to allow the walkers to continue on the walkway, and passers-by donated loose change in to the collection bucket for the Alzheimer’s Society.

All of the walkers that took part received a well-earned cup of tea or coffee kindly donated from The Plump Duck as the cafe was just at the halfway point, before continuing on the walk to complete a distance of more than four kilometres.

The staff, residents and their families enjoyed a picnic at the end of the walk which was provided by the East Hill House chef and her team and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The total amount of money raised for the Alzheimer’s Society so far by the memory walk is £400.
