Extra hands are needed as a bid to rid two waterways in Petersfield of an invasive weed has been launched.
PeCAN, Petersfield Town Council and the Western Sussex Rivers Trust are looking for volunteer work parties to stem the spread of Himalayan Balsam, as the non-native plant is affecting local biodiversity.
The trio have joined forces to hold a series of removal days at Goodyer Meadow and Rotherlands Nature Reserve.
Sessions are free to join with the second of six taking place next Saturday (June 20) morning.
“This is a lovely activity to get involved in, meet people and take action for nature,” said a spokesperson for PTC.
