A community centre in Liss has been left £1,300 out of pocket after thieves stole a set of wooden gates.
The hefty wooden gates were stolen from the rear of the Triangle Centre, near the public toilets, sometime between 7pm on Wednesday (May 7) and 7am the following morning.
The culprits most likely used power tools to unscrew the gates in front of the centre’s wheely bin storage area off Rake Road, as the removed screws were left at the scene.
It may have also been a two-man job as the gates were sizeable and around a metre in height.
The gates may have been stolen to order as a similar incident took place at Harting Recreation Ground around the same time last year.

The company that installed the £3,000 bespoke gates warned Harting Parish Council about a spate of thefts before their disappearance in April 2024.
The incident late on Easter Sunday was the second of its kind in a decade at the South Harting site, with thieves cutting through metal bolts to remove the oak gates.
The police have reputedly been informed of the theft at the Triangle Centre but witnesses or anyone with information or doorbell footage is urged to call Hampshire Police or Crimestoppers anonymously on 101.
Alternatively, readers with information can also get in touch with the Liss Triangle Centre on 01730 301000.
Staying in Liss, Hampshire Police have confirmed that officers carried out a premises search in the village but that no further action has been taken.
Officers forced entry into a property on Woodbourne Close shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday, April 29.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police added: “A number of electronic items were initially seized for inspection and enquiries undertaken.
“This matter has now been concluded and no-one will face any further action.”
