ANGRY residents in Sheet are asking planners to review permission for three homes near their gardens.
The 10-strong group from Town Lane say only two homes should be built between their road and Inmans Lane on land they describe as a “garden grab site.”
Spokesman Lucy Pringle said: “We are not objecting to building there, just the number and their position.”
In September East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) gave developers 6A Vision Homes of The Spain in Petersfield the go ahead to build three homes on land behind an empty house in Inmans Lane.
To create space and gain access onto Inmans Lane for the development, the empty home is being demolished.
Despite approval for three houses, and work demolishing the Inmans Lane house starting, the protestors are campaigning for the number of houses to be cut to two.
Their campaign gets underway at the next Sheet Parish Council meeting at 10am on Tuesday, November 8, in the village hall, and they are appealing for residents opposed to the proposal to support them.
The group aim to present their case to the council, who earlier raised no objections to the three home plan.
The group also say when Sheet councillors visited the site, they didn’t gain the views of neighbours.
And the campaigners claim they didn’t know about the meeting at which councillors agreed not to oppose the 6A Vision Homes plans.
In a statement they said: “We were unaware of it so no one affected by the application was present. Therefore we feel our objections were not fairly represented.”
They have also written to EHDC planning department outlining their objections, and their request for a review aimed at reducing the number of houses to two.
Sheet EHDC councillor Nicky Noble said: “They will get a formal response from a a planning perspective.”
