PEOPLE with questions about the cost and availability of future care for loved ones will find answers in Horndean this evening (Thursday, March 1).

A host of experts and specialists will offer free advice during the ‘Planning care for the future’ event at Pear Tree Court.

The event is the first of its kind to take place at the recently-opened Care UK development on Portsmouth Road.

Independent specialists, Chris Brooker and Nick Truss from Care Funding and Financial Planning, will be on hand to give villagers professional advice and guidance and about funding long term care for their loved ones.

Selina Williams and Andrea Cox, from Verisona Law, will also give advice on legal matters, such as Power of Attorney.

A question and answer session will follow the event while visitors will also get the chance to meet the team at Pear Tree Court and take a tour of the home.

“We know that planning future care can bring up a lot of questions, so we are very happy to welcome Chris, Nick, Selina and Andrea to the event,” said Ray Arnold, care home manager.

“They are all experts in their field and can provide practical advice and support.”

He added: “We hope all those considering the future care of a loved one will take the opportunity to benefit from the help and guidance provided at this event.”

The advice-led event will take place between 6pm and 7pm while no booking is necessary.

Pear Tree Court is a £6.72m care home, containing 72 bedrooms and a host of facilities, which opened in late January.

The development, which welcomed its first residents at the beginning of the month, has created around 100 jobs.
