THE NEWLY-launched Petersfield Coronavirus Resource Hub website aims to offer community support, help and advice in one place online.

Volunteers are also delivering leaflets to reach those without internet access so everyone can access help in the battle back to normal life.

The website is regularly updated and verified and lists where you can source food, retail services, assistance and wellbeing services, as well as shop opening hours, maps and more.

Founder Malcolm Muggeridge of Liss self-quarantined for two weeks with what he believes was Covid-19 and wanted to help others, particularly the more vulnerable, cope during the pandemic.

He said: “We’re also gathering ideas how we can all make a difference and help the local community, even if you are stuck at home, and whatever your age or circumstances.”

Many local businesses have added their services and, for example, some closed local pubs now offer takeout food or free home delivery.

Other businesses provide freezer meals, and some artisan bakers are delivering for free.

Churcher’s College is preparing food for Age Concern but has capacity to increase this service – the college doesn’t take payment for its work.

The list is full of services from online art workshops to dog walking and more, and wellbeing services.

The Centre of Complementary Medicine has set up a free virtual support group, and some local churches offer shopping services, weekly meditation sessions, or just a chat.

To maintain your physical health there are physio-led pilates classes and consultations.

And one optician will provide emergency eye-care services for key workers and those in difficulty with their eyes, contact lenses and spectacles.

Mr Muggeridge added: “We welcome applications from local businesses and providers – fill out the online form and it will take about 24 hours to appear online.”

The Resource Hub works with Petersfield Coronavirus Help Network to provide assistance through its volunteer helper lists.
