MORE than 350 cyclists of all ages braved the wet and windy weather to ride in the Petersfield Ups and Downs charity cycling event.
Organised by the Petersfield Round Table, the annual event on Sunday, now in its tenth year, raised money for hospice-at-home charity The Rosemary Foundation and the Kings Arms Youth Centre, both in Petersfield, and the Petersfield Museum and Flora Twort Gallery.
Especially popular were the family cycle ride around the town, and a 50 mile challenge, which included hills at Hawkley and Froxfield,
Round table chairman Chris Morgan said: “It went very well despite the weather. The new 50 mile route was well received and we will probably take it forward to next year.
“Everyone was cheerful. I think one of the attractions of it is that all the money raised goes to local charities.”
He added that the total raised had yet to be finalised.
