THE ADAPTATION of a heart-warming, award-winning book seems an ideal way for children to enjoy a dramatic production.
Top amateur company HumDrum is bringing Skellig to life this week at Havant’s intimate theatre at The Spring Arts Centre.
The house is tired and dirty and in need of decoration, including the garage behind the house, but dad has promised Michael can have the renovated garage as a den.
Then at the back of the garage, Michael finds a dirty, brusque and rude – someone or something...Skellig.
Demanding 27 and 53 from the Chinese menu, drink and aspiring, Skellig is not what he seems and Michael’s turmoil-ridden life is about to take a very unexpected turn.
David Almond has adapted his own classic story for the stage in the production which is aimed at children aged eight and older.
Shows are at 7.30pm today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday), with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets are £10, £9 for concessions and £30 for a family of four. Call 023 9247 2700 or visit the website at: www.thespring.co.uk
