IT team volunteers from SGN have helped reclaim an overgrown garden at White Gates View Fitzroy Support Home at Liss.

White Gates has four residential units where adults with severe learning difficulties live with support, and they share the communal garden.

A small budget was agreed to restore it with some new plants and weed-suppressing bark mulch.

Hilliers Garden Centre in Liss also donated mixed plants and a few other accessories to help with the project.

Flower beds were weeded, a lovely old 8ft brick wall was cleared of creepers, and the paths were jet washed. A new gate was built, along with a replacement ramp for the wheelchair swing, two broken fence posts replaced and the three rotary washing lines were concreted in to make them more stable. By the end of the day, the garden was looking really smart, and a very satisfied team finished work about 6pm.
