A GROUP which runs an "outstanding" care home in Horndean has acquired a service which supports 30 people around the South.

All the staff and clients of My Willows, a group which provides domiciliary and community care, have been transferred from the Somerset Care Group (SCG) to In Home Care.

The latter, which runs homes in Chichester and Grayshott in addition to its Havant Road premises, was approached by the SCG to run its Hampshire service due to the "quality of care" it offers. The move will see the firm’s care increase by an extra 200 hours a week but Paul Reynolds and Claire Simmons, joint directors at In Home Care, are not expecting any problems.

The pair said in a statement: "We are delighted that In Home Care were invited to acquire the My Willows service in Hampshire.

"We will ensure continuity of care for 30 clients and continuity of employment for 18 staff.

"We achieved the Care Quality Commission rating ’Outstanding Care’ for providing clarity, a very personal approach, compassion, friendliness, gentleness and warmth across all our services which will now extend to our new clients and staff."

Services offered by The Willows include elderly care, companionship and dementia care. Andrew Needham, Assistant Director of Community Services at SCG, said the firm wants to concentrate on the My Willows service it operates in the West Country.

He said: "In Home Care shares the same core values at Somerset Care - that everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, beliefs or disability deserves to have their needs met with understanding and love in the comfort of their own home."
