THE POST’S popular motor show is returning to Petersfield this weekend.
In the last few years the display of classic and vintage vehicles has been part of the Spring Festival in Petersfield town centre.
For this year the show has switched to become part of the Summer Festival but that doesn’t mean the event will be any less spectacular.
More than 100 vehicles are expected to be part of the show on Sunday from 10am-3pm.
They will line up along Chapel Street and Lavant Street so that visitors can get a close look at the motoring history on display.
At the end of the afternoon, the vehicles all drive off along High Street, providing a spectacle as they head off from the event.
The oldest vehicle expected to be on display dates from 1925 – a Willys Knight Phaeton – with a 2005 Ford Mustang Coupe one of the more recent vehicles taking part in the annual motor show.
All of the famous makes from motoring past will be represented – Austin, Morris, MG, Triumph, Hillman, Wolseley – and will be joined by older models from firms still around today – Ford, Jaguar, Peugeot, Fiat and Saab. There also will be motorbikes such as Triumph and Vespa models on show.
