LISS Horticultural Society held its 77th annual general meeting and cheese and wine party, with more than 60 members attending.

The chairman, Mike Boocock, reported yet another very successful year with excellent shows, a well-supported plant sale, some excellent speakers at the monthly meetings and enjoyable garden visits.

Mike went on to thank everyone for their support and looked forward to a successful 2018.

The annual general meeting was followed by the cheese and wine party.

Donations for refreshments at the monthly meetings and at the shows in 2017 raised £393, which has been donated to The Rosemary Foundation, the society’s chosen charity for 2017. The charity for 2018 will be Liss Unites People in Need (LUPIN).

The next meeting will be held in the Triangle Centre at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 6. The guest speaker is Malcolm Moodie, and he will talk about the Orchids of Borneo. All welcome, £2 entry for non-members.
