A quick look back on 2025: What made the headlines in Petersfield? The present chairman, Ann Doyle, and previous chairmen, Sue Organ and Jenny Ashford, reminded members of the group’s history as well as amusing anecdotes from the last ten years.
All agreed that the success of Liss in Stitches was down to the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the interesting and varied programme of speakers and practical workshops.
Looking forward, as well as a series of monthly meetings, the group is busily planning a Taste of Textiles event to be held on Saturday, April 14, next year.
Similar events held previously have proved popular with several short workshops being offered for people to try new techniques. Further information will be available in early 2018.
The group is welcoming Arthur Ridley to the next meeting. After spending his early career as a tool maker, Arthur changed tack, training in creative textiles and has taught and exhibited for many years. The meeting will be held at 7.30pm tonight (Tuesday) at the Triangle Centre, Liss. Guests are always welcome – more information can be found at: www.lissinstitches.wordpress.com
