A WEEKEND by the sea was enjoyed by Cub Scouts from all nine packs in the Petersfield District.

From areas including East and West Meon, Liphook, Liss, Petersfield and Sheet, they decamped to the Southbourne Sea Scout headquarters.

Among activities there, they scavenged along the shoreline, hiked around the Chichester estuary, cooked popcorn over a candle and used maritime signal flags to send messages to each other.

This year Cub Scouts are celebrating 100 years with many local and national events planned for the centenary.
