A DELIGHTFUL visitor has made himself very at home in a Petersfield garden.

A young deer has been basking in the sunshine outside the house in The Avenue of John Gammon, which is close to The Heath.

At first he curled up in the pampas grass at the front of the house, and after a few days made his way to the back.

“He likes to tuck himself away,” said John (87).

“When he was nibbling the roses one morning and I opened the window he shot away like a bolt of lightning.”

John doesn’t think he is injured or stressed, but worries the deer may have been separated from his family.
