Dozens of youngsters got their elevenses last Saturday (July 26) as hunter-gatherers scoured the Heath and Pond in a Petersfield Lions challenge.
Sixty children put their skills to the test during the group’s second Lion Hunt at the beauty spot.
Participants aged 2 to 11 were given a question paper, pencil and map to find answers on eleven posters with information about Lions Clubs and what they do within the community.
Children were given a voucher for a free 99 ice cream at the Plump Duck on completion while being entered into a draw to win a large cuddly lion.
“We had some very positive feedback and children enjoyed it, with many asking if we were going to do it again next year,” said Petersfield Lion, Dave Read.
“The parents liked the fact it made the children walk all around the pond.”
The final question asked participants what could make the world a better place with winner Rory impressing with his answer. The victorious youngster said ‘recycling, drive electric cars, don’t waste water or use too many paper towels’ with him and his mum already looking forward to next year’s hunt.
Petersfield Lions Club would like to thank Ian at the Plump Duck for his generous support in this venture.
