EXPECT drama, music and an art exhibition during this year’s Film and Three Day Arts Festival in Sheet.

The whole event starts tonight (Friday) from 7.30pm, with music from the Mark Vennis Band. A break at 9pm will see old black and white films being shown on the main stage, accompanied by live piano music.

Films which have been entered into the festival competition will be shown tomorrow (Saturday) in Sheet Village Hall, and then later on the main stage. The prize giving for this competition will take place at 7pm.

Sheet Film Festival is also running a separate Phil Haines Award 48 hour film challenge, which will run alongside the Film Festival, with a prizegiving ceremony on Sunday evening.

The art exhibition in the Barn at the Old Post Office opens on Saturday and runs until 7.30pm on Sunday, showcasing villagers’ artistic talents.

Music will be on stage outside the Queens Head and bands playing include Big Red Ass, the Mark Vennis Band, Dreamweaver, Amnesiax, the Whistle Test Revival and Abuncha.

Sunday events start at noon to show entries for the 48 Hour Film Challenge in the village hall. The art exhibition opens again at 2pm and closes at 7.30pm.

The Lion and Unicorn Players will present A?Tribute to Shakespeare at 5pm and the Petersfield Academy of Dance will also be performing. The Polite Mechanicals will be bringing their unique brand of music and humour to the stage.
