A DRIVER who was one of six car owners who had their cars vandalised in Petersfield is warning other drivers to park safely.

Will Atkinson, of Farnham Road in Liss, parked his car in Petersfield’s Festival Hall car park last Saturday night only to find on his return the wing mirrors had been ripped off, costing £280 to replace.

Following the attack, he is advising other drivers to choose well lit, busy or overlooked places to park at night in the town centre, such as the central car park.

He left his car at about 8pm and went into town, where he arranged for a lift home at midnight.

On the way he decided to check his ‘old’ VW Golf but to his dismay, he said, he found both wing mirrors on his car and five others had been torn off.

He alerted police via the 101 line – call that number with any information.
