CONCERNS over increased traffic congestion and housing development in Sheet are to be aired at a meeting in the village open to residents.

New county councillor Russell Oppenheimer has promised to attend the annual general meeting of Sheet Association and Community Trust too, to answer questions.

The meeting is on Friday, June 9, at 7pm, in Sheet Village Hall, with drinks and nibbles offered.

Traffic problems, especially at the junction of Town Lane, Inmans Lane and Farnham Road, will be discussed.

It is feared schoolchildren are being put at risk, and parked cars are restricting access for emergency vehicles, and visibility for motorists.

A car park would help alleviate a “difficult and dangerous” situation, it is thought.

With Sheet a rural community, housing development, with the number of houses built in the village escalating, will also be a topic for debate.
