There was a sight for the eyes and ears this morning in Liss as hundreds came together for a Remembrance Sunday service which included a special flypast.

Dozens gathered in St Mary’s church for a service of Remembrance before a parade led by the Liss Band and Army and a soldier on horseback made its way to the war memorial.

And there was a moment of perfect timing as midway through the sounding of The Last Post a Chinook flew over the village, with its departure to the east signalling the beginning of a two-minute silence.

Wreaths were laid before the Liss Band played the National Anthem and the parade made its way up Rake Road to the Liss RBL Club.

Scouts, guides and several village organisations were represented at the event, with crowds lining all sides of the green in front of The Triangle.
