A day of revelry on an East Hampshire farm has raised plenty of notes for the running of a village hall.

It wasn’t just the giant inflatable Hungry Hippos that had the crowd bouncing at the 2025 Stroud Revels.

The success of the 21st annual event at Rothercome Farm was down to a terrific programme of family fun, food, live music and good-natured competition.

There was plenty for children of all ages from face-painting and crafts to the bouncy castle, while the hay bale circuit made a popular return.

Food vendors Sizzling Kitchen, MochaTado and Earth To Oven served up a feast and Charlie's Baa kept the drinks flowing before battle lines were drawn.

Competition was fierce in the tug of war competition with villagers digging their heels in show of pulling power.

But as the sun began to sink the party was only just getting started with the likes of Bluestone Bills and The Fabulous Fug getting people on their feet and dancing.

Katy Lace, Stroud Village Hall manager, thanked everyone who came along to support the annual fundraising event.

She said: “We hope everyone had a fantastic time and we would especially like to thank the wonderful Snow family for hosting us for yet another year.

“And we have to thank the incredible team of volunteers who make this all possible – we literally could not do it without you.”

“Many people may not realise that Stroud Village Hall is actually a charity,” said Katy, adding the Revels began as a community-run mini musical festival to raise money for a new village hall.

“The profits raised by this year's Revels will help us to continue our work providing a welcoming and accessible space at the heart of the village for the enjoyment of the whole community.”
