East Hampshire Police have appealed for help to track down the owner of a dog that bit a woman in Horndean.
A woman sitting at a bus stop close to Napier Hall on Portsmouth Road was bitten on the hand by a brown-coloured Staffordshire bull terrier type around 12.15pm last Wednesday (July 9).
The victim was approached by the dog’s owner, a tall, slim white female in her 20s who had black hair and was wearing a light-coloured pattern coat.
After she started talking the dog jumped up and bit the victim, leaving a puncture wound and a “nasty bruise” which required medical attention.
The owner was apologetic but left no contact details, with police now investigating under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
Witnesses or anyone with information should call 101 quoting 44250306012.
